State Crimes

Tucson Criminal Defense Specialist:
State Crime Charges

If you are charged with committing a criminal offense in Arizona, you will face either state or federal charges, depending on the offense and who is brining the charges. If you are charged with a crime by the state of Arizona, then it is a state crime that is tried in state court by an Arizona prosecutor. For example, if you are charged with a white collar crime by the state of Arizona (e.g., of a white collar crime might be forgery or check fraud), then your white collar crime is a state crime. If on the other hand, you are charged with mail fraud (another white collar crime) by the federal government, then your white collar crime would be a federal crime.

With over 25 years experience in criminal defense, including defending clients charged with state and federal crimes, criminal law specialist Steve Sherick has devoted a significant part of his life fighting to protect the rights, freedom and future of men and women charged with a crime in Tucson or southern Arizona. Mr. Sherick is a board certified criminal law specialist by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization.
