Last week Governor Ducey signed legislation permitting offenders who engaged in sexual conduct with a minor when they were under 22 years of age to petition to have their sex offender registration terminated. The bill provides limited relief and is conditioned upon the sexual conduct to have been consensual and that the offender have completed his/her probation including sex offender treatment. The relief would not apply to offenders who received a prison sentence for their crime. The full text of the bill is here: http://www.azleg.gov/legtext/52leg/2r/laws/0105.pdf.
